ORLANDO, FLORIDA — Drowning is the leading cause of death among Florida children under the age of five, which is why drowning prevention experts Marlene Bloom and Mindy York continue to expand Baby Otter Swim School across the Sunshine State. Chicago Cubs’ legend and MLB Hall of Fame member André Dawson is the school’s ambassador and national spokesperson. Dawson is a graduate of our program and is on a mission to help us make Florida a Zero drowning state.
Swimming lessons, including the school’s patented “Turn,Kick,Reach” program are offered for students as young as 10 months old. York’s passion to expand the school across the state stems from a terrifying incident she endured decades ago.
